I’m Jessica Kessinger. Thanks for visiting Hits N’ Mrs and wanting to learn more about me and why I’m doing what I’m doing. If you got here by accident, think of it as a sign from above!! Far-fetched? Possibly.

What do we have in common?

We probably have in common that we’re moms. I have 3 wonderfully-made kiddos who range from 12 years to under 1. My 11 and 12-year old help make up the blended part of my cute family. They spend every other week with us and we’re looking for a child-share program to take on the 7-month old. We want everyone to stay on the same schedule. This full-time parenting isn’t all it’s cracked up to be! Totally kidding.

You might also feel like motherhood is overwhelming, one of the best things that ever happened to you, scarier than the tallest roller-coaster, and something you would never take back if you could.

You may have a great partner in life like mine who supports you in crazy things like starting blogs. My husband is a stay-at-home-dad which I’m guessing not too many of us have in common. I couldn’t ask for a better partner in parenting crime.

Why did I start Hits N’ Mrs?

  1. I might have a flair for the dramatics and could possibly do things sometimes to entertain others since… birth. Why let my crazy antics go to waste on people I already know?!
  2. If I call “not-it” on changing what I know to be a diarrhea diaper and then my husband gets poop shot at him like a water gun, why shouldn’t other people get a good laugh out of it? If poop explodes in the forest and there’s nobody there to hear it, does it really happen?
  3. I want to make people laugh, feel like they aren’t alone in what they are going through, and help them make life easier when I have tips to share. I want to do all of that while I stay home and enjoy my kids.

What makes me think I can help?

Outside of living the mom life along with you I’m a former Child Care Center Teacher and Middle School Teacher for 8 years. I’ve handled diapers to needing deodorant for the first time.
I’ve also managed major projects and adults in the corporate world which helps me be more efficient and need more life hacks to make things work.

I don’t do everything right either! I’m a life-long learner who seeks out tips from the mom tribe to bring to you.

Why don’t you ever have pictures of your oldest kids?

I made the decision to share my kids and our experiences with you but to keep their identity somewhat private. They are at some delicate ages where people’s opinions can make impressions and I know the trolls just wait to exploit that. So, I’ll write about their ages but keep their names and faces private.

You get to see the baby for now, until I decide he’s hit the right age to let him slip into the shadows.

Come back soon!

Sit down with your favorite drink next time and settle in. Enjoy something for yourself and try not to be sipping when you hit a poop incident. I don’t want to be responsible for dry cleaning bills friends!!
